SYR X Smalls New Shirts from Shoyroll!

I recently had the opportunity to work with one of the major players in Jiu Jitsu apparel and gear, Shoyoroll Brand.
Most companies I work for don’t really care for the people who wear the gear or what’s even on it just as long as it sales. Shoyoroll is one of the few that stand by there products and make apparel for those involved in the sport.
You can view more from the brand here: Shoyoroll Brand
You can purchase the shirts here: Budo Videos.com

Submission for Character Forge 2d: The 8th Immortal challenge on CGHub.com

Blast from the past…

I was contacted about these decks a little while ago. I had forgotten about even making them. It seems so long ago but it was like only a 4 or 5 years maybe. Man my style has changed some what because I look at this pic and think about a million ways I would do it differently. But isn’t that apart of being creative, learning new things and evolving as a person and as an artist?
Shouts to K. Mota for the photo.

WIP of the day…

I’m still not finished but so far so good. Now I just have to work out some of the details and mechanical parts.
I also referenced the Killer Chow Yun Fat for the facial features.

WIP

Once finished this will be another submission for CGHub, the challenge is called “The 8th Immortal”. The guy is named Iron Crutch Li.

::NEW CANVAS FOR SALE::

A walk from uptown to the financial district on Oct. 1, 2010.

4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse

There is still much needed work to be done to this piece but this is how it looks as of today since early this morning was the deadline.
Checkout CGHub.com for more digital art and illustrations.

Four horsemen…work in progress.

There is only 3 days left and I’m not even close. I’ve learned some more techniques and a few tricks since my last submission so I’m pushing myself on this one. Either way these challenges are taking me to another level creatively and that’s what I need right now.

Sketch of the day…

This was made last night while waiting for my laundry.

Started with 29 ended up with 17.

This project is finished for now. I still have a stack of these little canvases left, but for now I have to get back to some freelance and other projects. I will be posting this whole series for sale later this week.

29 Paintings of women in 2 days, not even close…

So I didn’t even come close to finishing but I made it some what half way. Not that it was a prize for finishing the paintings in two days, it was more about sitting down and focusing on the task without losing my edge. Some of these paintings are complete and some are not. I’m going to add backgrounds to most or other elements like tattoos, flowers and birds. There’s a few paintings that didn’t get outline only because those where made with paint markers and the majority or paint markers I had dried up from lack of use. I will continue to finish up this project in the next day or so and jump back on the Four Horseman piece. This has been an interesting project so far.

29 Paintings of women in 2 days.

Over the years I’ve collected a wide range of images for reference when creating. So I have a folder full of females from all over, random stuff, whatever caught my eye. A while ago I started drawing them but didn’t finish. This weekend I will paint 29 of the best from that collection of photos. Like I said it’s photos that I though where different in some way, hopefully when I recreate them on canvas I will be able to capture that same unique quality.

Work in progress…The Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse

This will be the next project for me. I learned a lot form the previous project about perception and painting depth. With each new art concept I want to work on an area not familiar to me while also focusing on getting better with color theory. This piece will be wrapped up in the next few weeks.

Portrait of Gordon Shumway the Great.

So as of the past 6 months or so I haven’t been painting on any large size canvas. The biggest I have worked with recently was about 16″ x 20″. Over the weekend I picked up about 30 5″x7″ canvas panels. I feel more comfortable painting on this scale rather than the larger size, and the ability to add in details doesn’t become a burden. Over the weekend I broke down several large canvases to make smaller ones so some of the paintings I had up on the site no longer exist, oh well. Look forward to more canvases up in the gallery and store section in the next few weeks.
