Art Demon enters the chamber (gouache paintings)
So tomorrow will be December and I’m only halfway finished with the gouache book. So be it, I won’t finish on time but atleast I’m enjoying the process. Stay tuned for many more!

The Art Demon rides again! (gouache painting)
What can I say differently about this one….not much. Enjoy!! Gouache painting in 5×8 moleskine book, Illustrated with a #5 and #8 pen, double spread.
Art demon back piece (gouache painting)
This piece was the most detailed so far in the series. I wanted to do more with the shading in the beginning. Once I got started things went into another direction. I choose to keep the background fairly simple while adding more detail to the characters. I will be posting 3 more later this week. The goal is to complete this book by the end of the month.
Art demon back piece (sketch for gouache)
The next sketch for the series to be painted.
The art demon rides again (gouache painting)
This is another installment of the Art Demon series painted entirely in gouache. This piece is a two page spread about 10″x8″ in a moleskine book. This piece was inspired by the t.v. series Sons of Anarchy. I’ve been into motorcycles for a little while and became a fan of the show.
Night Nurse (gouache painting)
Here’s the finshed product from my last posting. The size is 5″x8″. I like to think I’m getting used to painting on such a small scale but I know I have barley cracked the surface of working with this medium. The Art Demon will be an ongoing theme throughout the book. I basically want to show the evolution on my logo. You will have to just check back to see what I mean. Stay tuned.
Night Nurse (sketch for gouache painting)
Another sketch for the gouache book.
Art Demon(sketchbook illustration painted in gouache)
Yesterday I posted the sketch for this painting. Here’s the final product. So far working with gouache is fairly easy. I just have to get use to using small brushes for detail.
Black book sessions
So lately I’ve gathered up a farly good amount of different types of sketch books. Still not sure of how or what I will put into each one. As of today I’ve started working in my moleskine I purchased form Hydro74. For this book I plan to work with Gouache. With each book I usually work with a steady theme or medium. This book is particular special because of the cover is laser etched. The size is good and the paper is pretty thick so the paint will hold. My goal is to finish by December.

Take a dip in my sauce
Here’s the final version from the piece I started a few weeks ago.

Latest Work…Dread (revised)
As an artist one of the hardest things I face is keeping my skills sharp. One day I might think I am getting use to a style or technique and then a few weeks later or a month later I discover a whole new way to create the same image but only what i feel is better. So this is the main reason I’m always recreating artwork that was already on the site. It’s not that I don’t have new work but I only want to show certain images and now all or everything in my collection. Take a look.
Work in progress
It’s no secret that I am a fan of food and particularly a fan of nachos. So when I was asked to created some art for Nachos NY I jumped at it. With this piece I was looking to take my digital painting skills to another level so I started with a simple drawing but then decided just to delete the outline and paint freehand. Like I said this is a work in progress so stay tuned for the final product. peace-

Spectrum of Skills

This past weekend on of the many events I checked out was the “SPECTRUM-The best in contemporary fantastic art” at the
Society of Illustrators.
This was a great exhibition. I will be returning later this week for a second look. The work is amazing! Some artist printed the works on canvas and most are original hand painted pieces. This is a must for any fan or illustrator or artist in general the work as a whole is a great inspiration.
Old VS. New
This was originally posted on July 15th however, being my own worst critic I decided to go back in a change a few things in the artwork.

Now after making the changes I’m still unsatisfied with the piece but since I created this for myself it doesn’t matter. All I can do now is learn from my mistakes and what not to do for the next go round. It’s funny that after all these years I finally found a style when painting with acrylics and I’m still battling somewhat with digital painting. That’s what I love about art, there is always something to be learned.
Here’s a pic of the original concept.
Thicky Chick

This piece was originally a thicky chick I created for a friend of mine. I wasn’t to happy with the composition so I adjusted it a little bit.
